Abstract

Students with hearing impairments have their own learning attitudes and learning challenges. Even though students with disabilities have studied at special schools, they still face several obstacles. One of the areas of study guidance and counseling services can help students with disabilities recognize their own potential so that they have learning skills despite their limitations. The qualitative research method with a descriptive case study approach was carried out using observation instruments and interviews with student assistant teachers and 6 deaf students from class XI SMA SLB C in Pontianak. Researchers also conducted a literature review to provide an in-depth view of the guidance and counseling services needed by students with disabilities. The results of this study will further examine the learning attitudes of deaf students in the classroom, by prioritizing indicators of communicative processes, responses when learning, and learning activities. Students with hearing impairments have emotional vulnerability when it is difficult to understand the lessons conveyed by the class teacher. The results of this research study can be used as a reference for Schools and Outside Schools in accompanying and facilitating the learning needs of students with hearing impairments.

Siswa tunarungu memiliki sikap belajar dan tantangan belajar tersendiri. Meskipun siswa difabel pernah belajar di sekolah luar biasa, mereka masih menghadapi beberapa kendala. Salah satu bidang layanan Bimbingan Belajar dan Konseling dapat membantu siswa difabel untuk mengenali potensi dirinya sehingga memiliki kemampuan belajar meskipun dengan keterbatasan. Metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus deskriptif dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen observasi dan wawancara dengan guru pendamping siswa dan 6 siswa tunarungu kelas XI SMA SLB C Pontianak. Peneliti juga melakukan literature review untuk memberikan gambaran secara mendalam tentang layanan bimbingan dan konseling yang dibutuhkan oleh siswa difabel. Hasil penelitian ini selanjutnya akan mengkaji sikap belajar siswa tunarungu di kelas, dengan mengutamakan indikator proses komunikatif, respon saat pembelajaran, dan aktivitas pembelajaran. Siswa tunarungu memiliki kerentanan emosional ketika sulit memahami pelajaran yang disampaikan oleh guru kelas. Hasil kajian penelitian ini dapat dijadikan acuan bagi Sekolah dan Luar Sekolah dalam mendampingi dan memfasilitasi kebutuhan belajar siswa tunarungu.
