Elementary school dropout remains a serious issue in Indonesia, particularly in coastal areas where socioeconomic challenges are acute. Using a qualitative approach, this research identifies key factors contributing to school dropout, including poverty, limited parental support, and low learning motivation. The study employed direct observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and active researcher participation to gather contextual insights. Data were collected at Bumirejo Public Elementary School, Pencikan Fishing Village, Central Java, from principals, teachers, former students, fishermen’s families, and other stakeholders. Interview guides and sheets served as the main research instruments, while data validity was ensured through triangulation. The findings emphasize the need for targeted interventions, such as scholarships, socialization and mentoring programs, free schooling, and alternative learning pathways, to support vulnerable children. These insights provide valuable implications for policymakers, educators, and community leaders seeking to reduce dropout rates and promote educational equity in Indonesia’s fishing villages.
Hartatik Hartatik, Bambang Saptono, Salwa Nur Fauziah, Muhammad Rafi Hanif , Muhammad Ilham Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4792 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 RECONSTRUCTION OF NON-FORMAL EDUCATION AFTER COVID-19: A LITERATURE REVIEW ON CURRICULUM, METHODOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS, AND TECHNOLOGICAL TRANSFORMATION https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4793
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a major catalyst for fundamental changes in the global education system, including the non-formal education sector in Indonesia. This journal aims to systematically and comprehensively examine the reconstruction process of non-formal education in the post-pandemic era by analyzing transformations in three main pillars: curriculum, teaching methods, and technology. Using a systematic literature review approach based on national and international scholarly journal sources published between 2019 and 2024, this study analyzes the responses of non-formal education institutions to the significant changes that have occurred. The analysis reveals that the pandemic forced curriculum adaptations to become more flexible, concise, and focused on essential competencies and life skills relevant to crisis contexts. In terms of teaching methods, there was a significant shift from face-to-face learning to innovative, planned blended/hybrid learning models, which require enhanced digital roles and competencies of tutors or educators as facilitators. Meanwhile, technological transformation occurred on a broad and rapid scale, marked by the adoption of various digital platforms. However, this acceleration was accompanied by significant challenges in digital disparity, which risks increasing the inequality of access and quality for vulnerable non-formal education target groups. This study concludes that non-formal education has evolved into a more adaptive learning ecosystem integrated with technology. Nevertheless, for this transformation to reach its full and inclusive potential, it requires strategic policy support focused on equitable digital infrastructure development, educator competency enhancement, and the design of just and inclusive learning solutions.
Sherena Anodhra Eka Pramudita Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4793 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 STRENGTHENING FAMILY RESILIENCE TO ENHANCE WELLBEING: A CASE STUDY IN KRIYAN BARAT RW 17, CIREBON CITY https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4794
Urbanization in Indonesia has significantly reshaped family dynamics, increasing psychological and social stressors, particularly in economically vulnerable communities. This study explores how families in Kriyan Barat RW 17, Cirebon City, understand and practice resilience, and how such resilience relates to their subjective wellbeing. Employing a qualitative phenomenological design, we conducted in-depth interviews with 12 participants from six families purposively categorized as resilient or non-resilient based on community assessments and indicators of coping capacity. Data were analyzed using Colaizzi’s method, guided by Walsh’s Family Resilience Framework, with a focus on belief systems, communication, and adaptive functioning. Results reveal that resilient families emphasize shared spirituality, flexible role negotiation, and emotionally open communication, which contribute to greater psychological stability. In contrast, non-resilient families struggle with rigid roles, emotional suppression, and poor communication. By focusing on urban families in Cirebon, this research enriches the global discourse on family resilience with culturally grounded insights from Southeast Asia, a context that remains limited in current resilience literature. These findings offer practical implications for designing context-sensitive interventions to strengthen family well-being in urban Indonesian settings.
Herny Novianti, Ilfiandra Ilfiandra, Yusi Riksa Yustiana, Tina Hayati Dahlan Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4794 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 SELF-TRANSFORMATION OF EX-JUVENILE DELINQUENTS THROUGH FOSTERING RELIGIOSITY IN THE CONTEXT OF FULFILLING MASLOW’S PSYCHOLOGICAL HIERARCHY OF NEEDS https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4795
Juvenile delinquency is a complex social issue that requires a comprehensive and holistic coaching approach. One effective method is Islamic education, which emphasizes increasing religiosity as a foundation for behavior change and moral development. This study examines the root causes of juvenile delinquency and the role of Komunitas Pemuda Insyaf Karanganyar in promoting religiosity as a pathway to self-transformation and addressing adolescents' psychological and spiritual needs. Data in this study were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The collected data is then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's model, which involves data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Research findings show that disharmonious family backgrounds, permissive peer environments, and unresolved economic pressures are largely the triggers for juvenile delinquency. In response, KOPIKA implements various faith-based programs, such as Bikers Subuhan, Bir Mizon, Mas Bro, Sini Ramal, Algojo, Punk-Ngaosan, Nge-Punk, Hijrah Camp, Ukhuah Camp, and Ngaji Alam, as well as Silatu Ride Sowan Kiai, alms at red lights, open donations, and activities during the month of Ramadan. These initiatives are carefully designed to address the psychological and spiritual aspects of recovery, from initial engagement to the stages of identity development and self-actualization, ultimately fostering personal growth, repentance, and social reintegration. This study recommends that similar community-based Islamic educational programs be replicated in other high-risk areas as complementary models for youth rehabilitation. Integrating grassroots initiatives into public policy can support national efforts to build moral strength, emotional health, and lasting behavioral change in vulnerable youth.
Muh. Research shows that many children under the age of six years old are left by their mothers who work as international migrant workers. The role of the mother in the growth and development of children is often delegated to families, including fathers, grandparents, or others. This study aims to describe the practice of coparenting among families with children in the absence of the mother's direct presence. The study employed a qualitative approach, utilizing a case study design. Informants were selected purposively, consisting of 6 families with young children aged 4-6 years old and 3 teachers. Data validity was obtained using triangulation techniques. Data analysis was conducted using Atlas.ti in stages, involving condensation, presentation, data compilation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that families carry out coparenting. Coparenting involves communication and cooperation between family members, including the mother. The mother's surrender and trust in the family are the basis for parenting. Inappropriate forms of parenting carried out by families are physical punishment, threats, harsh language, and following all the child's wishes. Education for migrant worker families is necessary to enhance the quality of childcare and promote child development.
Nurul Ulfah Puji Lestari, Nur Cholimah Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4796 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 LOYALTY AND HARMONY OF SOLDIERS' WIVES IN LONG DISTANCE MARRIAGE IN MILITARY FAMILIES https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4797
This study examines the strategies of loyalty and harmony employed by soldiers' wives in navigating Long Distance Marriage (LDM) within military families. The situation of physical separation due to military assignments poses emotional, psychological, and dual role challenges for wives, which have the potential to affect household stability. The study employed a qualitative phenomenological approach, involving 10 informants, who were soldiers' wives, through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The analysis is carried out through the stages of bracketing, phenomenological reduction, essential description, and synthesis of meaning. The results of the study indicate that loyalty is sustained through a strong emotional commitment, characterized by consistency in maintaining trust, prioritizing family interests, and making reciprocal sacrifices. Harmony is strengthened by consistent, effective communication, appropriate use of media, and varied topics of interaction, as well as marital satisfaction built through mutual respect, mutual support, and pride in the spouse. Conflict resolution is carried out constructively by restraining emotions, providing a space for discussion, and finding mutually agreeable solutions. Social support from the Persit community, extended family, social networks, and spiritual strength are factors that strengthen family resilience. The study concluded that a combination of emotional commitment, positive communication, marital satisfaction, healthy conflict resolution, and social support was able to maintain the loyalty and harmony of military families in the face of LDM challenges.
Tri ‘Ulya Qodriyati, I Ketut Atmaja J.A., Rofik Jalal Rosyanafi, Mustakim Mustakim, Desika Putri Mardiani, Tisya Fajriatus Salim, Zahwa Islami Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4797 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 DOES THE ORIENTATION OF OTHER GROUPS MATTER? ETHNIC IDENTITY AS A CULTURAL RESOURCE AND CAREER ORIENTATION AMONG JAVANESE STUDENTS https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4798
This study examines the relationship between ethnic identity, Other Group Orientation (OGO), and career orientation among Javanese students. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design, involving 65 participants, all of whom were students. The PROCESS Macro Model 4 was used to analyze the direct and indirect effects between the variables. The results indicate that ethnic identity has a significant influence on career orientation and is positively related to OGO. However, OGO does not play a significant mediating role in the relationship between ethnic identity and career orientation. These findings emphasize the importance of ethnic identity as a psychological resource in career decision-making and suggest that its influence is direct and contextual, particularly in collectivist cultures such as Javanese society. Practical implications of the study include recommending that career counselling services in higher education institutions consider cultural identity aspects when designing more meaningful and culturally responsive interventions.
Zakki Nurul Amin, Sunawan Sunawan, Rossi Gaih Kesuma, Indrajati Kunwijaya Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4798 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 ANALYSIS OF BIBLIOMETRIC OF PSYCHOLOGICAL EQUALITY RESEARCH 1995-2025 IN INDONESIA https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4799
This study aims to analyze the development of research on psychological wellbeing in Indonesia through a bibliometric approach. The primary focus of this study is to describe the map of research development based on keywords and linkages of key topics related to psychological wellbeing. The data used comes from international publications registered in the Scopus database from 1995 to 2025, using the keyword "psychological wellbeing". The method used in this data analysis is VosViewer to map the relationship between keywords, while the citation count filter is done using Microsoft Excel. The results showed that the number of publications related to psychological wellbeing in Indonesia experienced a significant increase in 2023, with a peak of 200 documents. The research map shows three main clusters, namely: (1) scale, positive relationships, interpersonal relationships, and emotions; (2) health effects, diabetes, and health workers; and (3) stress, symptoms, hospitals, and burnout. In addition, this study shows that although many studies have focused on measuring wellbeing, interpersonal relationships, and burnout, research involving local people and Indonesian culture is still limited. Therefore, future research is expected to expand its focus on local and cultural communities and enrich the context of psychological wellbeing by integrating more diverse social and cultural factors.
Purwadi Purwadi, Amien Wahyudi, Shopyan Jepri Kurniawan Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4799 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 WELLBEING LITERACY IN ADOLESCENTS: A SCOPING REVIEW OF CURRENT PRACTICES AND EVIDENCE https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4777
Vocational identity refers to a clear and stable understanding of an individual's career-related goals, interests, and talents. The study addresses the research gap in understanding the effectiveness of various career interventions on student wellbeing in the context of secondary education. Fifteen studies were selected based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The analysis revealed that the most effective interventions include technology-based career exploration programs, individual career counseling, job skills development workshops, mentoring by industry professionals, and work experience simulations. These interventions significantly improved aspects of student wellbeing, such as life satisfaction, self-esteem, and optimism about the future. Technology-based career exploration programs showed the highest effectiveness, with an average increase of 25% in student well-being scores. However, the effectiveness of interventions also depends on factors such as program duration, facilitator qualifications, and student engagement levels. The main contribution of this research is the provision of a comprehensive synthesis of effective career exploration interventions for enhancing student wellbeing. The findings can serve as a foundation for curriculum developers and school counselors in designing more effective career exploration programs. Limitations of the study include variations in the operational definitions of wellbeing across studies and a lack of long-term research. Future research is recommended to focus on the long-term effects of career exploration interventions on student wellbeing after graduation.
Asriyana Asriyana, DYP. These dilemmas, when present, have the capacity to assume a heightened degree of complexity, which can impede school counselors' ability to make informed decisions, thereby giving rise to ethical dilemmas. The ability of school counselors to address ethical dilemmas is predicated on their capacity to view problems from multiple perspectives. The inability to address ethical dilemmas over an extended period and on repeated occasions can have a detrimental effect on the wellbeing of school counselors. This study aims to explore ethical dilemmas on school counselors’ wellbeing through a Systematic Literature Review. Articles were sourced from reputable academic databases, including Scopus, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and APA PsycArticles, with a focus on publications from the past five years. The scanning process for documents was carried out following the outline outlined in The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020, to ensure that the review process was robust and rigorous. The review identified that ethical dilemmas are common in the school counseling context, including (1) confidentiality, (2) competence, (3) role conflict, (4) relationship conflict, (5) personal bias, (6) Unethical Request, (7) Technology, and (8) Willingness of the client. These dilemmas have been shown to significantly affect counselors' psychological wellbeing. The findings reveal that frequent exposure to ethical conflicts contributes to increased stress levels and emotional exhaustion, ultimately leading to professional burnout. This research emphasizes the need for preventive strategies, such as the use of ethical decision-making models, training, and supervision. A STUDY ON FLOURISHING ACROSS GENDER, SEMESTER, AND FACULTY https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4782
Flourishing is a key indicator of the psychological wellbeing of student teachers, who play a crucial role in developing professionalism and resilience within the educational environment. This study aims to find out who thrives more in teacher education by examining differences in growth rates based on gender, semester, and faculty. A total of 354 student teachers from various education faculties in Indonesia participated in this study. Data were collected using the PERMA scale, which includes five elements: Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Achievement. MANOVA analysis revealed no significant differences based on semester; however, significant differences were found based on gender and faculty. These findings highlight the importance of wellbeing interventions at the micro level in the educational ecology system, namely the environment that has direct and routine interactions with students, such as lecturers, peers, and classroom learning dynamics. Emotional support from lecturers, active involvement in learning activities, and positive relationships with peers are crucial factors that contribute to students' thriving experiences. Therefore, strengthening literacy wellbeing in teacher education needs to focus on creating a supportive, relational, and strength-oriented learning climate.
Nadia Aulia Nadhirah, Adiena Filosofianita, Sudaryat Nurdin Akhmad, Ahman Ahman, Syamsu Yusuf LN, Ilfiandra Ilfiandra Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4782 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 REVISITING THE FACTOR STRUCTURE OF THE COGNITIVE STYLE INDEX: EVIDENCE FROM INDONESIAN STUDENT SAMPLES https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4783
This study aimed to examine the factor structure of the Cognitive Style Index (CSI) within the Indonesian cultural context. After undergoing cultural and linguistic adaptation, a field test was conducted involving a total of 326 university students. The collected data were analyzed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis to test three models of the analytic–intuitive cognitive style: a unidimensional model (Model 1), a two-factor model with a higher-order factor (Model 2), and an uncorrelated two-factor model (Model 3). Of the original 38 CSI items, only 20 had adequate factor loadings. The results supported Model 3 as the better-fitting model (χ²(170) = 271.475, p < .001; RMSEA = 0.053 [95% CI 0.041–0.064]; CFI = 0.916; SRMR = 0.057; TLI = 0.906; ω = 0.888). Based on this, cognitive style measurement using CSI yields two separate scores, analytic and intuitive, for each individual. The study recommends adding new items, particularly for the intuitive dimension, to better reflect the characteristics of Asian populations, who tend to favor more intuitive and holistic thinking styles over analytical and formal ones. Furthermore, future development of cognitive style instruments should incorporate contemporary perspectives that view cognitive style as an adaptive function responding to environmental demands and challenges.
Liftiah Liftiah , Aftina Nurul Husna, Siti Nuzulia, Faiz Fatihul ‘Alwan, Pundani Eki Pratiwi, Laila Listiana Ulya Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4783 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 EXPLORING THE MOTIVATIONS BEHIND PSYCHOLOGY STUDENTS’ INTEREST IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP: A QUALITATIVE APPROACH https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4784
The interest of university students in entrepreneurship has been steadily increasing; however, the underlying motives remain relatively underexplored, particularly among psychology students. This study aims to explore the factors that motivate psychology students to engage in entrepreneurial activities. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected from 295 psychology students at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) through incidental sampling. Participants were asked to respond to an open-ended questionnaire consisting of a single question designed to elicit their views and personal motivations. The qualitative data were analyzed using open coding, axial coding, and selective coding based on the Grounded Theory method, followed by categorization and frequency analysis to identify the most dominant themes. The findings revealed nine main categories of motivation: (1) economic motivation and financial security, (2) social and environmental motivations, (3) personal interest and self-development, (4) learning experiences and opportunities, (5) long-term career orientation, and (6) career escape. Among these categories, economic motivation and financial security emerged as the most dominant drivers, followed by the pursuit of work flexibility and the desire to create job opportunities. These findings suggest that entrepreneurship motivation among psychology students is influenced by a combination of financial goals, personal values, aspirations for social impact, and the search for meaning in work. Understanding these motivations may serve as a foundation for developing entrepreneurship education programs tailored to the needs and characteristics of psychology students.
Laila Listiana Ulya, Pundani Eki Pratiwi, Aftina Nurul Husna, Faiz Fatihul ‘Alwan, Indah Mulia Sari Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4784 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 TEACHERS’ NEEDS ANALYSIS OF INTEGRATED SCIENCE AND SOCIAL STUDIES MATERIALS FOR HOLISTIC LEARNING IN PRIMARY SCHOOL https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4785
This study investigates the instructional needs of primary school teachers regarding integrated science and social studies materials to support holistic learning. Although the national curriculum promotes interdisciplinary teaching, many teachers still rely on textbooks that separate science and social studies into different semesters. This fragmentation poses challenges for implementing cohesive instruction and limits students’ ability to understand real-world phenomena in a holistic manner. Using a descriptive quantitative design, data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 36 primary school teachers in Central Java Province. The survey examined teachers’ use of official textbooks, perceptions of content separation, and expectations for integrated materials. Findings reveal that most teachers perceive current textbooks as insufficient to support integrated, contextual, and inquiry-based learning. Nearly all respondents expressed an urgent need for thematically structured teaching resources that foster interdisciplinary thinking and deeper conceptual understanding. These insights underscore the need to redesign instructional materials and provide teachers with more effective support for implementing holistic learning at the primary level.
Erna Zumrotun, Sabar Narimo, Harun Joko Prayitno, Endang Fauziati, Ahmad Muhibbin Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4785 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 REVEALING THE COMPETENCY GAP: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT NEEDS OF JAPANESE LANGUAGE INSTRUCTORS IN NONFORMAL TRAINING CENTERS https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4786
Japanese language instructors must be both professionally competent and effective teachers in non-formal education centers, such as job training centers (Lembaga Pelatihan Kerja, LPK) for aspiring migrant workers. It remains unclear how much practical experience in Japan versus academic credentials influences successful instruction in these settings. The instructional efficacy of two groups of LPK teachers, those with a degree in Japanese literature and those without formal education but with extensive job experience in Japan, was examined in this research. Semi-structured interviews with five instructors and observations of classrooms in three LPKs were used to gather data. This study presents a systematic review of the latest academic literature (2018–2025) to explore how the dynamics of teacher welfare are integrated into the school ecosystem and education policy. Drawing on the theoretical frameworks of PERMA, Ryff, and Maslow, this analysis highlights that wellbeing is not only about the lack of stress, but also includes meaning, autonomy, and supportive relationships. Instead of viewing wellbeing as an individual issue, this article proposes a new perspective: a social ecology approach, which views wellbeing as the result of an interaction between personal factors, work culture, and national policies. In Finland and Australia, for example, professional autonomy and structural support systems have been demonstrated to foster the sustainability of effective pedagogy. On the other hand, Indonesia's context still faces challenges in the form of administrative dominance and low collective reflection. Local studies, including those by the Learning Teacher Foundation, suggest that community-based interventions and participatory leadership are starting to create transformative spaces. The findings highlight the need to design wellbeing strategies that not only alleviate the burden but also foster teacher agency, social recognition, and opportunities for professional growth. In the context of the Independent Curriculum, a learning reflection-based welfare approach, such as Assessment for Learning, can serve as a new medium for teachers to experience the meaning of work, enhance emotional regulation, and design adaptive teaching practices. Thus, this article not only summarizes but also reformulates wellbeing as a systemic investment in sustainable quality education.
Triono Ali Mustofa, Fadhilla Nangroe Anggraini, Abil Fida Muhammad Qoiz Al-Hadi, Jasmine Aulia Kyria Hakim, Zuhrufa Redina Izza Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4788 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 EFFECTIVENESS OF PEER LEARNING STRATEGY USING PSYCHOLOGICAL AND BEHAVIORAL MODELS FOR TIERED ROAD SAFETY EDUCATION https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4789
The rising incidence of traffic accidents among adolescents highlights the need for an educational approach grounded in behavioral psychology to enhance both cognitive and emotional aspects of road safety awareness. This study evaluates the effectiveness of a tiered peer learning strategy within the "Pejuang Muda" program, organized by the Polytechnic of Road Transportation Safety (PKTJ), implemented in two beneficiary schools: SMAN 2 Tegal and SMK AL-HUDA Bumiayu. The intervention was conducted in three stages, involving 30 students in the first stage, 60 students in the second, and 120 students in the third. Each session combined theoretical instruction with practical application on a safety road. As part of the evaluation phase, two main competitions were held, involving 11 schools and attracting over 700 participants and spectators from elementary to higher education levels. The first, the "Safety Riding Campaign Competition", assessed participants' ability to deliver road safety outreach presentations and was won by SMAN 2 Tegal. The second, the "Safety Riding Skill Competition", tested practical riding skills, including braking, navigating a narrow plank, and completing a slalom course, with SMK AL-HUDA Bumiayu emerging as the winner. The findings demonstrate that tiered peer learning is highly effective in enhancing road safety literacy and awareness among adolescents. These results support the integration of peer-led learning methods into formal curricula as a sustainable strategy to reduce traffic accidents among young people.
Nurul Fitriani, Leonardo Paksi Sukoco, Goklas Hendra Uktolseja, Raynaldi Saputra Masuang, Brigitta Mutiara Wahyu Susanti Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4789 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 THE APPLICATION OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS VALUES THROUGH THE MONTESSORI METHOD IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4790
The Montessori method is an effective learning approach in supporting holistic early childhood development. The integration of Islamic religious values in this method is a crucial strategy for instilling spiritual and moral character from an early age. This study aims to systematically examine studies that discuss the application of Islamic religious values through the Montessori method in PAUD institutions in Indonesia. The study employs a systematic review approach, adhering to the PRISMA method. Data sources were obtained from Google Scholar within the 2017–2021 publication range, with inclusion criteria that covered relevant and fully accessible research journal articles. Out of the 135 articles searched, six articles were selected for further analysis. The results of the study demonstrate that the Montessori method can be effectively integrated with Islamic values in various early childhood learning activities, particularly through activities that emphasize independence, order, and developing good habits. These studies employ a case study and literature review approach, highlighting opportunities and challenges in their implementation. In conclusion, although there are still limitations in the number of studies and teacher training, the Islamic Montessori method has great potential in shaping children's spiritual and moral character. Curriculum development and further research are necessary to support the wider application of this method and standardize it.
Dwi Hastuti, Raden Muhammad Ali Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4790 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 DOES MOM’S JOB OR A CHILD’S GENDER MATTER? EXPLORING ADHD SYMPTOMS IN INDONESIAN PRE-SCHOOLS https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4791
This study aimed to examine the influence of maternal employment status and child gender on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptoms among preschool children enrolled in Aisyiyah kindergartens in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. A quantitative approach with a comparative design was employed, involving 235 children (110 boys and 125 girls). Data were collected using the ADHD Rating Scale IV, completed by parents based on their observations of the child’s behavior over the past two weeks. Results from a two-way ANOVA revealed no significant main effects of maternal employment status (F(1,231) = 1.25; p = 0.265), child gender (F(1,231) = 2.30; p = 0.131), or their interaction (F(1,231) = 0.98; p = 0.322) on ADHD symptom scores. Further analysis using the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test on a subgroup of 17 children identified as showing ADHD tendencies also found no significant differences based on gender (U = 23.0; Z = -0.524; p = 0.600) or maternal employment status (U = 26.0; Z = -0.262; p = 0.793). These findings suggest that demographic factors such as maternal employment and child gender are not significant predictors of ADHD symptoms in this population. The study highlights the need to explore broader ecological and cultural factors in understanding ADHD in early childhood.
Muhammad Hidayat, Intan Puspitasari Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of the Education and Psychology International Conference https://proceeding.unnes.ac.id/epic/article/view/4791 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700
