Perceived Usefulness and Ease of Use on Behavioral Intention to Use Electronic Signatures at a Dental Hospital

The adoption of electronic signatures (e-signatures) is a key component of digital transformation in healthcare services, aiming to improve administrative efficiency and data security. This study investigates the impact of Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) on the Behavioral Intention to Use (BIU) e-signatures at the Dental Hospital of Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang, using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A cross-sectional quantitative method was applied, involving 30 staff selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. Results showed that both PU and PEOU significantly influenced BIU (p<0.001), with a combined explanatory power of 62.7%. PU (β=0.617) was the most dominant factor, indicating that perceived practical benefits are the main driver of adoption. PEOU (β=0.310) also had a significant effect, highlighting the importance of system simplicity and usability. The study concludes that successful implementation of e-signatures depends largely on user perception. Emphasizing the functional advantages of the system and providing a user-friendly interface with adequate support and training are essential steps. These findings serve as a reference for broader digital technology adoption in healthcare, reinforcing that user acceptance is critical to the success of digital transformation initiatives.
