Abstract

This article aims to analyze the factors that contribute to work stress and the coping strategies used by sports lecturers through a systematic literature review. Literature searches were conducted in Google Scholar, Scopus, PubMed, and Portal Garuda using keywords related to work stress and coping strategies. Inclusion criteria consisted of peer-reviewed publications from 2015–2025 that were relevant to the context of sports lecturers. A total of 25–35 articles were selected and examined using narrative synthesis and thematic analysis. The review shows that work stress among sports lecturers is influenced by academic workload, administrative demands, role conflict, and the specific challenges of practical teaching. The findings also indicate that sports lecturers commonly employ problem-focused coping, emotion-focused coping, and social support from colleagues and institutions to manage stress. This study provides a comprehensive overview of work stress patterns and coping strategies among sports lecturers and highlights the need for institutional policies to reduce work stress and enhance lecturer well-being.
