Abstract

Twenty-first century learning demands the integration of educational technologies that foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking skills. In alignment with the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045, the STEAM approach serves as an essential foundation for developing innovative and future-oriented learning experiences. This study aims to analyze the contribution of Augmented Reality (AR) as an instructional medium in physical education to enhance students’ learning motivation. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method was employed by examining eight internationally indexed articles published between 2022 and 2025. The findings reveal that AR consistently enhances students’ motivation through interactive learning experiences, clearer visualization of movements, and real-time feedback, which collectively make the learning process more engaging and immersive. AR has also been shown to improve student engagement, active participation, and understanding of motor skills within physical education contexts. This review concludes that AR is an effective and adaptive learning medium that meets the demands of twenty-first century education while supporting STEAM-based educational development toward the realization of Indonesia Emas 2045.).
