Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the deep learning approach in Physical Education (PJOK) at the elementary school level in response to current curriculum reforms emphasizing mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning. The purpose of this research is to analyze how deep learning principles can enhance students’ understanding of movement, strengthen reflective thinking, and promote active engagement in physical activities. Using a literature review with a descriptive–analytical approach, this study synthesizes policy documents, contemporary research, and pedagogical perspectives to identify effective strategies for integrating deep learning into PJOK. The findings show that contextual learning supports deeper conceptual understanding by connecting fundamental movement skills to real-life experiences. Technology integration provides personalized feedback and enhances students awareness of their physical performance, while collaborative learning fosters social skills, cooperation, and shared decision-making. Overall, the study concludes that deep learning has strong potential to transform PJOK into a more holistic and engaging learning process, provided that teachers are prepared, instructional designs are contextually relevant, and technological tools are used appropriately.
